How do you like my rack..err stacks? Had the tarp on the top, plenty of airflow now. The spot they were at before was a bit of a quagmire, mud would creep up.
Welcome aboard and nice to meet you FatBoy85 Great pics and posts, and like Backwoods Savage said - would really like to see that boiler Glad ya found us and jumped in feet first
what kind of burner are you running at home?? as for the birch, i just got some plywood covering to tops and it is fine. Ive had it stacked about a year and a half now with just the plywood on the top Highbeam is in the Enumclaw area
Elder, I don't presently have a woodstove at home but Im hoping to change that if possible. Would save me a lot of $ in the future by not having to run my electric all day. Do have a chimney but I think it was for oil. As for burning, I got lucky someone had made a firepit for me before i moved in December 2015. I also got lucky and found one of those washer tubs that come in handy for building fires outside. For the meantime, I just enjoy what I can do for now and continue to collect the wood. The birch is probably the only wood that will fit in these EPA rated woodstoves. Everything else will be mostly for outdoor burning. I should keep this in mind when Im c/s/s'ing my mill cuts since they are about 2 to ft long but they arent that thick. Perfect stove wood if I can debark them easily.
Enumclaw has apparently 40 feet of freaking snow. I check the weather there just about every day. If that isn't a woodhoarder paradise out there...
