I have started to receive my annual delivery of garden porn magazines. I spend hours looking at them and I think my wife gets jealous. What seed and plant companies do you order from? Any bad luck experience from any? Are there some specialty companies that I haven't heard of? Lets hear it green thumbs! :tractor:

The 2 main ones I get are Gurney's and Burpee's. I always buy pre started tomatoes locally because of the short growing season we have.

About 10 years ago I used to purchase seeds every year, specifically heirloom varieties. After a few years of growing and saving seeds I ended up with a nice seed bank. Then, I found out that people actually trade and sometimes give away seeds all over the United States and multiplied my seed variety buy at least 4 while trading. I have not needed any new seeds in about 4 years so have not been on the garden forums.

GardenWeb used to be really cool and had a real nice seed trading section but looks like it has changed significantly with Houzz. I guess everything is about the money....

It looks like Dave's Garden still has a real nice seed trading area.

If you like looking through really cool seed catalogues try these 2. They are my favorites! A little more expensive but you are getting high quality heirloom seeds and some varieties that most people never heard of.

Vermont Bean is one of my favorites. Unfortunately I did not get to have a garden last year, nor wil I have one this year since I've been working 2 jobs. Doesn't give me time to water or tend a garden.
