Got some call from my 90yr old Grandfather Friday afternoon - he had a couple trees taken down in the back yard that were overhanging his roof and causing some moss issues. He asks if I can use the wood, laughing because he knows how hungry the owb is, and what the answer will be. Saturday the crew finished up with grinding the stumps, so I was able to get in there Sunday for three loads and some quality time with grandpa. Sadly the tree service bucked it so they could get it out of the easy for their grinder etc, so it's all short compared to the 24" I usually cut, but truth be told it makes the work pretty quick and the price is right, so I certainly won't complain! They even noodled down the trunk pieces to liftble size, saving me a twenty mile tow with the splitter. Probably six loads left, which I'll be after on my days off this week, Thursday and Sunday. Pics or it didn't happen, right?

I don't think I'll need them for this job, but bringing a set of ramps has been my trick. Have gotten some rounds into the truck bed that block most of the rear window laid on their sides. Hard work, but not as hard as writing a check for oil! -edit- positioning the truck so the bed is low at the gate end helps a lot, too. At this site I'm able to park with the azz end of the truck over the raised spot where a stump was ground, so I'm only lifting maybe 18".
