I vote 024. Definitely not an 038 though.

024 would be my vote, too. Probably the "Wood Boss" version, based on the larger amount of lettering visible on the top badge.

It's on CL. The guy knows nothing about it. I'd rather bounce it off you guys to see what it is before I waste any time going to look at it.

It's too small to bother with for me.

How much is he asking? If it's not locked up and you can get it for cheap then get it. If it runs and you can get it for cheap even better!:saw:

Is that a model with a good reputation?

If so it might be worth it. It doesn't run, but isn't locked up, from what he says.

Yes I believe there is. If you can get it for $50 or so if it doesn't run would be a good buy! If the cylinder isn't scored but just doesn't run may be something simple like a carb or cracked fuel lines. That would be a cheap fix. If it's more than what you want to get into, and it has a lot of good parts on it you could part it out on ebay to recoup you money? That's my opinion but up to you!

Nope, never an 026 that was labeled as a "wood boss" on the metal tag.

    That saw isn't an 026 anyway, it's an 024.

I also think it is an 024. If it is a super it is definitely worth getting.

I have an 024 super - very light saw for limbing and decent power for relatively low cc - parts fetch good prices on the bay - if they don't want much, you can't really go wrong. Cheers!
