This!! All I'd do w/ the elm is use it to run saws. My chickens would love to enhance its nitrogen content!
Elm burns quite nicely. I don't know why it gets a bad rap. Yeah, splitting it sucks, but hydraulics don't care.
I had a not so nice experience with it (even have 34t of hydros). Never again. But more power, or btu's, to ya!!
My hydro's are less than half that. Probably 15 ton old didier splitter and I've never had an issue splitting American elm with it.
Oh no you don't! You're not going to trick me into a glass of wine after driving all the way across Wi. Nope!
Uh oh. I just got permission to take rounds of ash that the tree service left down the block. All cut up to nice 16" looking rounds. There's a couple of trailer loads worth. I've got a problem.
I'll break out the rosé for you and your Andes candies mobile. Plus there will be plenty of boot butter for Ashwatcher and Eric VW . We can discuss proper use of a moisture meter, to top cover or not, vertical or horizontal splitting, swedish vs German vs Japanese saws, why burning elm saves polar bears from global warming, and what color tractors have the best ROP beer holders.
I better go get a fire started for overnight and get a glass of kool aid before bed. Over and out fellows.
