I finally finished with the Red Oak we have been working on. It was a good size tree and I took a smaller one out beside it. One full truck load stacked and one truck load heaped. We still have to stack it but I have it out of the woods which was my main plan.

Here is the pile after both truck loads were dumped.

My next project is a large White Oak. I just dropped it today after the Red was finished.

The dog climbs on anything that he can.

That's great and you have some AWESOME BTUs right there my friend! I've got about 4 cords piled up ready to get stacked when the snow melts. Beautiful dog you have there as well!

For about 25 years I hardly ever had oak but the last 3 or 4 I have burnt a pretty fair amount. Nice work OhioStihl...of course I have almost always had black locust in the stacks

Yes, dead standing. The Red Oak had part of the top out of it but I had to drop the main trunk. We have the space to store and dry it for 3-4 years, it is worth it when it's seasoned right

It's my favorite wood to burn and every thing I cut is dead standing. We have 10+ cord stacked/seasoned and room for plenty more.

Oh who am I kidding all I have is Red Oak it has to be my favorite.

The main trunk of the White Oak is done. I split some where I cut it but it was on a slight incline and lots of saplings around. It was a PIA. The rest of the wood I quartered and carried to the trail, nice and flat. I have to get the top cut and split then I'll be done. I got a workout from splitting in quarters then carrying each piece up the hill. I went back a couple days later to split it up. I wasn't ambious enough to split it all the same day.
