No elm, but a good bit of white pine and Norway maple. IMG_20170215_171437737.jpg

    Those are pretty big pieces.

After the family got off to school I went up to my parents place and picked up their trash for a dump run. Came back home and waited on technician from tractor dealer to stop by and correct a couple little things. Those are taken care of now. Then took a few minutes to load all our trash up and went to the dump(transfer station). Next was back to my parents with lunch for the three of us. My Mom has been under the weather for almost a month now. Flu, then a bladder infection. She is starting to feel better now though, slow but sure. All us kids have been pitching in to help them out more. :handshake: After lunch I moved some more brush with the grapple and then pushed the rest of two piles all together into one big pile. It is ready to be burned. I don't think I have the energy to go out and light it tonight though. The tacos for dinner were pretty tasty, and the chair is very comfy.

Yes, typically we do. Not unlike Maine in that regard. However, this has been an odd winter.

Horkn I really don't know you but as a fellow hoarder I feel that I may speak freely to you and point out some things about this so called "free wood".

    1. If they can't manage to bring you elm or maple on a regular basis, don't offer your yard as a dumping ground for them.

    2. If they can't have those pieces bucked up into stove length rounds, don't offer your yard as a dumping ground for them.

    3. This is most important....pay close attention! Do not, and I will say again, DO NOT let them by any means bring you any more pine....ever! It is clear they aren't concerned about your well being and safety as they are obviously trying to get you to burn your house down!!!!! So, don't let them use your yard as a dumping ground!

Yeah! :dancer:The pile I had pushed all up and together today with the tractor started smoldering on the ashes and coals from the other day. I kept seeing smoke but it couldn't seem to take off and I didn't want to go out to get it going. Well it started snowing and I looked down to the pond area again!

    Lol.

I'm going to send the girl at the office that contacted me "thanks, and bring more!"

I'll tell her I'll take not only the oak and locust, but I'll take the pine and elm too.

    You're on a roll tonight.:p

    That's all staying.

I'm actually getting serious about selling the yuppie wagon and getting a truck.

These new trucks get better mpg than my car. I've not seen a USFS green color option though.

Hey brother! For the right price....you could have your very own forestry green!

I put new 10 ply tires on it last week and then had the front end checked and adjusted (toe-in) so its all set to go with less than 60K on it. Mechanic took it for a ride and said there is nothing wrong with the front end, very tight and drives just like new!

Probably look real good parked up there in Tomahawk!

That's pretty cool! Pike eat everything.

Once you make the mistake of having the saw throw cold water on your leg, you learn to hold it to the side when cutting ice!

Well this morning is pretty much gone. Had to run kids to school early, drive back to town. Get dog food and some grocery stuff. Bring it home and unpack it. Get laundry going. Shovel sidewalks and steps. Go back to school in a bit and pick up son and take him back to town to get allergy shot. Then take him back out to school. Each way to/from school is 8 miles.:picard: Then it will be almost time to go have lunch with parents and my sister. Time with all family members is always gooder though.

(But the tractor is sitting lonely in the barn on my day off.:( Poor little guy. After lunch.....!)

Wow! I get up at 6:00 AM and start reading what everyone has been doing all morning and I am ready to go back to bed exhausted.

We have a rain and wind storm going on outside. We made a trip down island yesterday with a storm predicted and the morning wasn't too bad. Fortunately we came home in the light when it really started to rain with water over the highway.

I got my new orthotics and now I have been cleared to start walking in the mornings. Not long walks but I can start. After listening to the weather outside, I think I will wait until next week when this storm system has moved on.

Tire went flat in my truck, WWW was taking lil one to school (took my truck to fill the tank). Tried to take the tire off that night, no dice. Cheater bar on the old lug wrench literally reshaping the nuts, not stripping but bending the edges. Guess we will call around today to see if someone offers mobile service, be a shame to pay for tow just for a flat tire. The fun part was it gave me an excuse to take the Blazer for a rumble to pick lil one up from the bus stop:)
