    Hello ladies and gents

I just got my stove up and running it is a cab50 in my not yet finished 480 sqft home.
Here is a video of her up and running. I am open to any ideas on how it looks like it is running. I am wondering specifically if the flame is to hot.

By too hot do you mean too active? Hard to tell from that video. Do you have an OAK hooked up and do you have it plugged into a surge suppressor?

Yes if it is too active. No oak yet as the home isn't sealed yet and yes I do have it on a surge protector.

    Thanks Cleanfire

I don't know what kind but I will find out tomorrow and let you know. I am going to run it through a full cycle on the thermostat. Great sounds good, I was worried it was burning a bit too high.

Lol okay I will be sure to remember from now on.
I picked up the stove this spring from an auction for 300 bucks it was purchased in Feb of 2015 so very little use on it. I know it is probably going to be over kill in my little sprayfoamed house but better too big than too small I would think. My vent runs out horizontally to a clean out T then has around 5ft of vertical rise to a soft 90 outlet. No oak yet but I will be putting one in before next heating season when the house will be all finished up.

Wow, congrats on the great price on the new stove and welcome to the forum! Based on what you can see in that short clip it looks like it's burning well.

If you don't have a copy of the manual, head to the Heatilator website and download the manual and read it, then re-read it. You also might want to keep a couple spare parts on hand like an igniter and some snap disks.

    Welcome greaser :)

Cab50 has a gate in the hoppr to adjust the feed. Can be found on page 10 of the manual.

Here the link to the manual. I recommend you give it a good once over.

Welcome Greaser! :handshake: Great deal on the stove. Don't mess with it too much until you get it permanently installed w/ the OAK. By then you'll have a better handle on how she runs at different settings.

Great Advice and WELCOME Aboard Greaser !
Did I hear Bourbon ? As Bogie has stated that is one of my beverages, long time connoisseur of Bourbon know it very well. Some great informative people here that can steer you in the right direction . Before you know it every square inch of space that is not in immediate use will be stacked with pellets. You will be stopping at every possible place that might have pellets (you know just in case there is a sale or some exotic pellet you never know) and before you know it you will have 2 stoves, 3 leaf blowers, pellet bins, infrared temp devices. People here are very relaxed and laid back when it comes to Pellet roasting. Not !
Welcome aboard and you have been warned :)

Yes, You will pretty much need to adjust this for each brand of pellets for the most part. Depends on how they feed. As pellets very in density-size each will be slightly different. Give the gate a tweak now and you will likely need to again once you install the OAK kit. Check it again if you change pellet brands.

Let us know how ya make out once its adjusted? :)
