Nice set up guys! Swags, love the counter weight on the front of the tractor. I have to come up with something for mine. I would like to be able to put some rounds in a steel basket when retrieving wood.

Guido Salvage. I see you have a Cockshutt there. I was looking at this one, nice tractor, but it had too many hours on it for me. A little over 11,000! Those Fiats are some real work horses.

If you look close the "bumper" on my tractor is 2 part one bar is solid 3" steel round stock that weighs about 80lbs. The other bar is 3" inner diameter pipe filled with lead and it weighs about 100lbs so the total front weight hovers around 180lbs. Also have the rears filled with wiper fluid and the hold just over 9 gallons a piece so there is close to 200lbs inthe tires.

That is what I am thinking would help on mine. I have loaded the carry all box on the back of the Ford three times now. But I have only been loading it about 60%. I can feel the tractor getting light with that weight. Luckily the four wheel drive has a heavier front end than the older two wheel drive. So it is doing well with these loads. But if I start loading it even more I think it would be good to get a couple hundred pounds hanging off the front of her.

When I lift my ballested disk harrow that has like 400 extra pounds on it the front is still light and on bumps it rides up then down. Before the front I had to steer with the brakes or drag the harrow a bito_O!

But i cant flip over as once it goes high enought the harrow hits like a wheely bar .

Ya it works well, had to figure out a better way, I had made my wife sit on the front a few times but she wasn't very amused!

LOFL. Physics is great. Isn't it? Your beautiful wife, with a little distance (leverage), can physically represent much more than she actually weighs. If you tell her anything of my explanation and include me I will ........

It is amazing how the 200lbs of weight in thetires aallows the tractor to get traction and not spin out as easy pulling the disk. Just the 200lbs is almost lime a night and day difference.

Actually there are 5 Cockshutts there, you can only see 2 (the 35 and a 20 behind it) in the picture above. I also have a 30, 40 Deluxe with factory loader and a 50 diesel along with a pair of 2 bottom plows and a 3 bottom plow. I also have the grain drill shown in the picture below when I had my building malfunction last year (the noses of the 40 Deluxe and 30 are beyond the right side of the drill).

Before you get any ideas it is all put back together now... It would not have been possible without the bucket truck pictured earlier.

Nice BillinTX. I like um. They both look like they can get some work done, the Massey especially with the heavy stuff.

Guido, I'm kind of surprised you have so many Cockshutt tractors that far south. The Oliver on the other hand, ....

I only have the one tractor, but it sure is handy. Oliver 1655, 70hp, 1974 which IIRC was the last year for this model. The Loader is a DuAl 3100 which I started to repaint but haven't had time to finish. 2 coats of orange over a gray primer & it still needs more to get a good cover.

The rear tires are 18.4-34 & are fluid filled with calcium water. Makes hauling the large logs / trees much easier.

My version of a skidding / retrieval winch attachment. The gray box behind the seat is a connection box for trailer lights and has a slave receptacle going to the batteries. Makes mounting & disconnecting the skidding / retrieval winch attachment easy. Also handy to plug a pair of jumper cables into & keeps the battery for the winch charged. By having the three batteries to power the winch, I have never had a problem with power for the winch or the tractor. You can't see it but behind the red & black connectors are 7 blade & 4 pin flat trailer receptacles.

I have owned 12-15 Cockshutt and Coop tractors, they have come from VA, PA, ND, NH, NY and Canada. There actually was a dealer down in North Carolina. I have probably owned 35-40 Oliver tractors including two 1650's, both with loaders. I still have the 440, a Super 55, 551 forklift and 2 OC-46 crawler loaders.

And here I thought of Cockshutt as more of a Northern states & Canada area tractor. My knowledge increases daily.
