I thought this would be interesting wood shed idea to share. Some folks might be able to use and maybe even improve on. Hope fully I added the link correctly.

I actually really like that idea......... It would be cool to build that on skids so you could drag it to where you wanted to stack. I wonder if you bend metal roofing to fit that so there was no need for tarps? I kind of want to try that.

That is a cheap easy idea. Those hog panels run about $35 each. Rubber roofing out of a dumpster. Bingo.
That rooster would sound better inside my crock pot !

:sherlock: May be best for wood that is already, or, almost seasoned. Seems the wood is stacked too deep, covered too much and too close to the building to get sufficient air flow and sunlight to season it in a timely fashion. But then I'm just a fussy old cuss I guess. :BrianK:

At my place wood only goes into a woodshed when it's dry.

I was thinking the same thing if rubber roofing would work.

It looks like you'd have to bend over quite a bit loading and unloading it.

My thought was if a individual doesn't have a wood shed that this might be an inexpensive way to store your seasoned wood. Never hurts to toss out new ideas that maybe one individual could use.

Could build it narrower with a higher arc =less bending.
    Might sacrifice stability though .
I suppose you could run wire or rope through stack half way up to improve stability.

    Ralphie,
I agree. I would only make the bin one panel deep. and double up the tarp or whatever.

Free skids and rubber roofing. Cheap storage!
5 skids total. 3 on ground, 1 on each end. (about one years worth of wood)
    5'5" x 5'5" x 4'10" high = 3.25 cords. And NO cribbed ends!

No skids; just saplings cut in woods. Cribbed ends. 9 cord of wood here. Was top covered in fall of that year.

Are ya saying to bend the length of the sheet over the hoop? I think would be pretty tough.... cut to the depth of the hoop (and many pieces at that), and "shingled" so to speak, perhaps?

Used rubber roofing around here is never thrown away. The roofing companies sell it around here for firewood use, among other things. So unfortunately it's not free around here.

I'll be making a traditional style wood shed , 3 bay 4 cord per bay on my house property this spring. Although this type would work for my wood lot if I wasn't worried about my firewood walking off. I'm not too sure of that not happening though.
