Hello Anyone upgrade for the Patriots Game? We put the old flat screen in the basement which was the hard part. Using 2x6 and plywood for a corner support with star deck screws and an impact drill to connect into the wall studs. Then picked up a 49" Smart a$$ Sony Bravia to sit in the old alcove over the fireplace made for the old 47". Luckily the old 47" had a thick frame so the new 49" fit with room to spare. So after connecting the coax vid cable from the Comcast box to the new TV it said no signal! The slim instruction book said nothing about that!! Is there more instructions to download from the web? I finally realized the coax wire input may be disabled by default and plugged in an old HDMI cable into the new Comcast box and into the TV and bingo, it worked? So will upgrading to a 4K able make much of a difference? Pic 1 - new 4K going in. IIRC, the only programming source in 4K right now is Netflix. When we put in the new flat screen a couple months ago, the 'old' HDMI cable in the drawer wouldn't cut it. Needed to get a (specifically labeled) high speed cable. Problem solved.

Yikes. Don't ever spend that much on an hdmi cable. They are digital so they either work or they don't work. Just find the cheapest cable that is "High speed" and you will be good to go. Google the subject and you will find all the information about the 4k hdmi scam that retailers are pulling on people.

Hello New problem now! Since the coax input on the new 4K tv was.disabled by default, we did not hook it up and did not use the stereo RCA sound jacks to go into the old Yamaha RX-V683 7.1 receiver that played stereo thru all 7 speakers. I hooked up a new 4K HDMI cable from the new Comcast menu box to the Yamaha DTV/cable HDMI input jack and then the HDMI output jack to HDMI 1 input on the TV Now we only get sound out of the center channel speaker and the surround speakers and the rear speakers not the front speakers! So it seems like it is trying to do 5.1 !! I called Comcast and we went thru the setttings in the Comcast box and changed it from stereo to 5.1 auto detect. They also checked and reloaded the firmware. We have the latest firmware version 2.7 and the newest menu box so that does not make a difference. Still only 5 speakers working plus the2 subs. I went thru all the receiver input choices like stereo, surround decoder, Roxio Theater...etc and no change. Is there a fix for that?? Anyone else have this problem? See pics
