    Alert: Snow forecast for Hunterdon Cty has been increased by the NWS. 14"-18" now forecast. Travel conditions are poor. Avoid travel.


    At least the freezing rain is out of the picture. That is tough to deal with.

    Received 13" so far, in the lull of the storm, supposed to wrap back around and get another 6"+ with the tail of the storm. Shoveled for 2 hours. Feel like I'm 95yrs old at the moment. After lunch, roof, tonight re-shovel what's still coming.

    They were calling for 2-4" here originally, since then it's been upgraded to 6-10" or more....we're just now getting the heavy snow, it's been light til now. Around 4-5" from this storm so far, can't wait to get home and run the sled!!

    Situation is actually getting kind of bad here. Not forcasted at all, we have a thunderstorm nearby. Its 31F, and pouring freezing rain. I cleared 14" of snow off my roof and aluminum awning. This rain has froze at least a quarter inch, maybe more, and the aluminum awning is starting to drop down in certain areas. I just got some 2x4's and a load bar used in my pickup bed to hold up the roof. I hope it switches to snow soon. Sounds like its mixing with sleet, and another 7" snow expected. Crazy storm! Be safe guys....

    We have the thunder and lightning going on here now too. It is raining now and then snow more is expected. The snow load is going to be quite extreme for flat roofs. My wife (teacher) just got tomorrow off. I expect that my kids will have a delayed opening in the least.

    Just checked outside. It is raining but I have no water coming out of my down spouts. Some is coming over the frozen gutter tops. I hope it isn't backing up into my house. There isn't anything I can do about now anyway.

    Well Seasoned, That is a lot of snow and cold, and at my age, I can imagine how you feel fighting it, but the last pic says it all.....WARM WOOD STOVE. That's why we do it.:)
