A friend of mine from down south was saying he cant get some of the old westerns on the tube any more. I can get some up here on regular tv as that is all we have ( no cable or dish at our place). I took the time today to email him the cliff notes on todays episodes of the shows. If you like the old shows and missed them today, maybe this will help. Since you cant get them old westerns on tv I thought I would give you the cliff notes on todays episodes. The Big valley; Heath Barkley got 1 eye and 1 arm and both legs shot off and his family sold all their holdings for 6 mill to get him fixed. Gunsmoke; Matt boinked Ms. Kitty so hard that her beauty mark moved to the other side of her face. Chester quit, got his leg fixed and changed his name to McCloud and moved to New York and rides a horse around Manhattan as a full fledged Marshall. Bonanza; Hop Sing poisoned all 3 Cartwright's so they would eventually die of natural causes, stole the cash box from the desk and finally got his hemorrhoids fixed after so many years of 3 big sweaty ranchers pushing his lunch back inta him. The Rifleman; Lucas boy sold his rifle and bought a first baseman's mitt and a basketball. He told Mark that his only future goal in life was to be the first man to break a back board playing in the NBA and moved east to Boston. Mark looked at his dad and replied "HUH?" Lassie is on in a minute so I aint sure what happens today but I'm bettin Timmy gets stuck in a well some where. Stay tuned for tomorrows installment of "The evening news as interpreted by Mike."
Ding, ding, ding! I'll bet too, that Timmy tells Lassie to "go get help", and sure enough, that'll happen.
This just in. Timmy got outta the well and programming went to Death Valley Days. We all know how that turned out dont we? Cleanest mules and cow punchers who ever lived I tell ya what.
And now the update on our local news round here. "BLLLAAAA,blabla,BLAHHAAAblabberbla." and in case I was interested, it might snow or it might not.
My wife and I have become more fond of the books on tape or C.D's especially the old Louis L'Amour ones. The ones that I haven't purchased over the years can by checked out at the library for nuthin. Back in the mid 80's I was fortunate enough to be gifted a big box of old L'Amour paper backs from one of my brothers from a different mother. He had purchased them a book at a time while in a jungle far, far away in the mid 60's to pass the down time he had every so often. After he gave me all those books I read each and every one of them during the cold winter months when we were some times snowed in for 4 to 5 days and even longer. A good old dime novel, a bag of salted in the shell peanuts, an old worn out Lazy Boy recliner with the shiftier pulled back into the neutral position made for a good day. I miss them days in a way but then.... I did how ever re-gift all those old paper back novels when I was done with them with the understanding that they would be returned to me or given to another that would enjoy them. A few of them I am sure I will never get back since I left them in some gray bar for a cell mate so I could just climb on my chrome horse and beat it home to apologize to my fambly for being a dip chit. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it. I dont want a cookie or any freaking fudge neither thank you very much. Nappy time.
And Major Nelson never had a good answer when Jeannie always said "what is it you would like me to do master?"
