No pic of my overnight stoveload I just did. Not pretty at all, but the evidence will be burnt by morning.

More importantly, the all beech fill up will keep my house nice and warm.:fire:

Our weather has been a roller coaster too. We had a lot of rain yesterday and headed for the teens tonight. :hair:

Fir with a couple chunks of birch. 26° outside. It's been colder than normal around here, so I'm running her for all she's got.

It took me a long time to get used to setting the air differently for different wood types. The hardwoods around here are pretty low octane compared to those available in other places, but still burn different than softwoods. I go by the number or rungs on the air control that are sticking out past the ash lip. 7 out is fully closed. I normally burn alder, maple, and birch with 6 out. A load of fir and/or hemlock can be left alone with only 5 out.

It's been a while for me to need to stuff the quadrafire full.

It's going to get maybe down to 10° tonight.

That is why he took a close up shot so you didn't see the engine crane he used.
