Hello I'm from southwest indiana. I started burning wood last year my fiancée dad gave us his old hot blast when he moved to Florida. Now I just need a good supply of dry wood
Welcome Zachb91 - You're gonna like it here, I guarantee it-lots of knowledge and info to be shared, lots of great peeps and no question is out of the question...your supply of dry wood comes with much work, patience and perseverance,,,and oh so much gratification...glad you're on board...lots of great Indy members here We like pics, dogs, beer and spending your money on toys for you...Nice to meet you
Welcome. Great forum here. Not sure if your planning on scrounging or buying wood in either log length or already split but if you have the time scrounging is the way to go IMO. Nothing wrong with however you get wood but for me the scrounge is like a good hunt, always exciting, you might get small scrounges but every once in a while you come across the trophy scrounge! Lots of great peeps and info on here, enjoy.
Welcome aboard Zachb91, pull up a log and sit a spell by the fire. Ok you've sat long enough, get busy building your stacks of wood, get it split and stacked so it can dry. We preach the 3 year plan here...if you can get far enough ahead so you are burning firewood that has been split and stacked for 3 years it will be complete joy in your experiences. It takes a lot of hard work and we all had to start somewhere but once you get there you are only cutting a years worth to replenish (or you keep cutting and get farther ahead)
Welcome from the north side of indy. I used to hunt fairbanks landing when it was new. Lots of bruisers on that old power company ground....or at least used to be.
Welcome! I'm in s. Indiana across from Louisville, Ky. And I agree on the scrounging, especially if you run across a free one! Free burns better...
I got my Diper Party comin up here in april if anybody wants to come. Gonna shoot clay pigeons have a bonfire afterwards an have a few cold ones
