Well, since the giant rodent say we have 6 more weeks of winter:eek:, "NO S#!T" what do you all think you have burn't so far?

I'm already a cord past last year, all said and done I'll be into my 5th cord by the last fire for the winter.
I just tapped my 4th cordo_O, and they say theres globle warming:mad:

well I'm in deep here easy 3+cords predominately gum/pine but a good cord of oak.
Might have under prepared but I blame that on 2010-11 lower back disc issues - If I burn under seasoned wood to close out the year I'll deal with it, liner sweeping wasn't even near what I expected a couple weeks ago

Right around 4 cords which is usually how much I burn in an entire winter

Well since this is the first day of this month that we were not into the negative range. I was thinking the same. So far 3.3333 cords down. I have about 1 cord left. I'm not going to make it...:(

Normal winter for me is 3 cords. Going to go over that. Not sure how much........minus 9 last night, minus 6 the night before, and below 0 F tonight burns a lot of wood.

I am guessing almost 4 cord at this point. Not feeling any pressure, no worry that I will run out. Had 5.5 Set aside for this year, still not sure I will get through it all. If i do, I can dip into next years stack. Doubt I will.

Maybe 3-31/2 cord for me. This is my first year burning. Didn't know what to expect so I had about 10 or so cords on hand.
Just wish I had started earlier getting ready. But this whole thing started when BrianK got the Ideal to test.
I should break even this year and heat the next two years for free.

I am about at 2 cord and I got plenty more so I don't care...I heat about 80 percent with wood....I am heating a poorly insulated 12 by 60 trailer but adding to insulation as I can....:)

I am past the two cord line and into my third cord. I expect to burn four. I recall that the mid-point of the heating year is some time in late January, at least in a normal northeast winter, so we are almost a month past halfway thru the winter.

    So far .
    Near 4 cords,
A little over 1/2 way thru winter.
I figure as little as 5.5 (my least amount with the new cat stove ) & as much as 7 (last year)

So to be safe, I figure 7.5 every year,

This year I might be on the plus side.
Start off next burn season with some 4 year wood,
that would be some nice dry wood ! :)

Right where I want to be.
    Somewhere around 3 1/3- 3.5 cord.
Plus about 80 ccf of natty gas. First time for that since winter of '06.
    It's been cold.
Still have almost a cord on the l/h side of the shed (Oak), on the r/h side is 1/3 each of soft Maple and pine, then behind that is about 1.5 cord of Oak.
I'm fine, but using a bit extra.
The Oak on the r/h side should remain when this winter is done.

Good post. I was thinking the same thing earlier today when I filled my wood rack up by the house. I was thinking I'm burning more than normal but my figures come out to 2 3/4 cord so far. Still plenty left for next year and enough to get into the following. I've run the furnace more this winter since often I'm getting home late. About 310ccf of Nat. gas here. With the price of Nat. gas so cheap it isn't bothering me so much like several winters ago when the furnace kicking on could instantly wake me from a sound sleep.

I changed my avatar for the upcoming Paczki season:)

I don't know. I have to try them to make sure ok but you tired of things like this after a while. I do make sure I get one Prune every year. I know a lot of people don't like prune but I like the flavor. After all, it's just dried plums. The most popular is raspberry and custard but I'll do upwards of 15 different flavors just so it's too hard to just pick one to two.

I have 6 cord gone from the stacks. Used 100 gallons of propane just to keep the house at 55 when I'm gone too long for the defiant, and some quick warm ups. Way better than the $3-5000 I would have spent on propane. This year's weather really did a good job of convincing me to do some air sealing before next year.

Haven't burned that much this year, less than usual for sure. Normally burn about 3 cords a winter.

Dave you must be dumping wood in your stove non stop to burn 7 cords! I'm glad my house is fairly easy to heat!
