    IMG_3641.JPG IMG_3639.JPG looking for an Id on this. I want to say white oak.
    This guy was broken off at the top. I dropped a couple weeks ago and brought half of it to the house. Went back this morning and finished putting it in rounds

    I am no expert by any means but I would have to go with white oak as well. Hey it all burns!:thumbs::campfire::coldfire:

    I cannot say on the species but that does not look like white oak, I will say that.

    Edit: after zooming on the bark it could have a chance.

    The wood looks like oak, but dark

    I've got a lot of white ash. And this tree was in a low spot. Not in the swamp but not too far from one

    Does anyone know it the emerald ash borer is hitting the swamp ash like it is the white and green ash?

    It's not here yet. But it's knocking on the door.
    I walked the property with a forester last fall and said it won't be long
    The farmer up the road is harvesting all of his for saw logs and has been for the last 4 or 5 years.
    He's not touching the swamp ash. Says it smells.
