So, the trial run in the driveway ... you made the kids stay in the house, right? :D:whistle:

Oh man, tell me you do not make a habit out of building a fire in the cave!

I lost a friend that frequented a spot where fires were built in a cave and the roof of the cave collapsed on him.

Wow.. Sorry to hear about your friend. I have the fire pit on the outside edge of the rock arch, not really a cave that would hold the heat in, and the pit is on the outside edge. Although I probably should move it a foot or two further out.

    Thanks for the warning.

I believe that is what happened. Repeated warm (hot?) cold cycles and everything else added up to the tragedy.

    Freshly married to boot.

Those little 700W generators from HF are great for charging batteries. They're cheap, lightweight, and relatively quiet. The small Hondas are incredibly quiet if you want to spend the money.

The batteries on my travel trailer were easy to access, so I would take one out and put it in the back of my truck when we were out and about. I got an extra plug, and ran power and ground wires to the battery. It wasn't much of a charge, but it helped.

Nice looking camper. Ought to post some inside pictures. You should have many happy trails with that home on wheels. Good luck.

    Thanks!
Haven't taken any good pictures, here's the floor plan and a lousy Panoramic from the steps going to the bedroom.

rdust keep in mind that when it comes to the deep cell batteries you will gain a lot by using 6 volt rather than 12 volt batteries just because they can store more juice so they last a lot longer between charges.

We did put solar panels on our motorhome and had a bunch of 6 volt batteries to store the juice. It worked out very well. If you shop around you can sometimes find some great deals on the golf cart batteries (6 volt).

Thanks! I'm sure we will, compromised on some things but overall it should work out fine. I really wanted a slide with windows on the entry side but needed to purchase a longer 5th wheel to get that feature with the bunks for the kids. Longer means more cost and would limit my state land camping options even more than I did with this one. :)
