Went for two trips to a different Amish saw mill today. 20 bags each trip full of sawdust for the wife moved home and into the barn. She uses this in the horse stalls for horsey litter. Sooner or later it would be nice to get a chipper or shredder to make our own. We sure do have enough branches to shred on the property.

Other than that I'm taking it easy.

Umm. Had oven baked chicken and wild rice the wife made for dinner. Good. Then she breaks out a 12" cast iron pan that she cooked a massive chocolate chip cookie in. It was an inch and a half thick and took up the whole pan. WAS!:picard:

Also made the Menards run today. Got some odds and ends and yes, a jug of detergent! I knew you'd be proud!

When dad was still farming he had a dump insert mounted on an old gravity wagon running gear to run down to the local sawmill for sawdust...that was enough to last a week

I worked on the log splitter, and my ATV today.

I rethreaded the exhaust port on the splitter, refitted the exhaust, and topped the oil off for that 5 HP Briggs. I also made a deflector for the muffler as it was aimed a little too close to the operator if you operated it from the motor side.

Then I tried to get the chains on the upsized wheel/tires on the ATV. Even with some coaxing of the footguard brackets, the chains would still interfere. So I had to mount the original wheels and tires on back. Oh well. I tried.

All set for next time in the woods.

Sorry for the dark pics. I was bs'ing with my buddy and time got away from me. IMG_20170121_174832360.jpg IMG_20170121_175631251.jpg

Luckily we only have two horses. Hopefully these 40 feed bags full will last a month or more. It may be tough to get more after winter really hits. If it ever does.?

I think we'll put more firewood in before we get the chit that is coming up the coast and then go after more damage yellow birch.

It doesn't look like we'll get much snow from this storm (1-3) but we'll get more ice.

Really windy today. We are going over to Mom's to move wood down to the basement and empty the furnace of ashes. Suppose to be nice this week so campinspecter may be able to go out and get some more wood. I will be back to work full time but I have today to play.

Hope to get some x27 work in today. Had a fire in the garage last night, buddy says-this heat is so much better than a furnace. I say-I have about 1,000 "friends" who think the same thing!
