image.jpeg Not long ago we moved about a mile from my best friends Father. As a house warming present he dropped off two loads of Ash. My 4 years old twin daughters were out of town today so I got busy. Felt good to get it all split up along with a little cherry and pin oak. Time for a cold one!

The day after he dropped off the wood I stopped by his place with some bar oil and HP Ultra. His gift will really help me get ahead.

It was unseasonably warm today with temps almost pushing 50F.

Great house warming gift and good looking stack.
I am a little embarrassed. I got only 1/4 of the size of your stack split today. Of course I am like Uncle Joe on Petticoat Junction here. We move a little slow.

I am moving slower today for sure. It was all nice straight grain wood that was cut rather short. It was also my first time swinging the Fiskars vs a standard maul. Every time I took a break I couldn't help getting back at it.

Splitting ash with a Fiskars is a fun pursuit. I love the way the log sounds when it "pops".

You're from the Shenandoah Valley. My wife and I have done a lot of bicycling there. Fantastic country and great folks. :salute:
