TSC 85....... UPC code noted by jtakeman to be WMP and I have to take JT for his research to be as accurate as one can get , thanks JT . They have produced the most ash, have the most fines and produce the least amount of heat out of any pellets I have roasted. Granted as beat up as they seem to be perhaps they are last year stock ? or a really bad batch or I guess the last possibility is my stove does not care for them . I can not get rid of them quick enough and am happy that some warmer weather is in the forecast, I will burn as many as these as possible during this time. The GS rebagged by TSC have less fines, less ash and burn a heck of a lot hotter .
Thanks again JT for your work

These Pellets are local, they ship for free with 1 ton or more, and are just as hot, if not hotter than Somersets! I get around 135°-140° with Stove Chow and 155°-160° out of Sets.

Definitely the opposite of my worst pellet!! Even though I have several ton of Stove Chow in my garage for next season? I may buy a couple ton of these. Price is right and they are HOT in pellet furnace!

i could be wrong, but the TSC bagged product is region specific, and a recall being told by an informed person that MWP is bagged for TSC in ME and parts of NH only. so your TSC material in MA is ????? JT, care to add?

You are correct, but they have their own UPC codes, so you can still tell what is in the bag. See this sticky. I do recall that not too long ago a new code was found that doesn't show up, so those are mystery pellets.

these bags come on a big roll from some manufacturer. i doubt any mill consistently checks to be certain the white TSC bags they got were the correct UPC code. an extra roll of MWP UPC code bags could easily show up in the NEWP plant.... or anywhere, for that matter. Scot might jump in here if he sees this thread.

If I had looked to see who I was replying to, I would have known better since I know you know a lot more about this stuff than I do . Ignore me as I quietly play with my toes over here in the corner :D

i could be wrong, and i hope we'll get more info. but we've seen a few anomalies with the UPC code, mystery codes and UPC's coming up as incorrect mills.

I don't trust TSC as a place to buy the " House Brand " , because you really don't know. For the most part the are going to be from a mill that is regional , like any business , try to minimize over head to max profits . Today I was in a TSC and they had Cheat River in the real bag , and I know that they bag the house brand Cheat's too .

We've seen the MWP down here too. They try to stick to the closest mill but if supplies are slim we get from the next closest. I usually see GS's from NY in my TSC, But have seen MWP and Energex.

Yes we have a couple of stray UPC codes. But for the most part they are traceable. Think there's like 2 odd balls on the list that we guessed at in the white bags. Only one when they used the red bags.

Not sure as I have not burned any bagged by WMP to compare, they are different then the other UPC code JT noted as being GS but as I burn more they dont seem to be as bad as I thought . With that said I am mixing them with the Vandy's I got from Skeet along with mixing the other TSC bagged GS as noted by JT. They actually are not to different than the GS TSC just seem to be beat up more . OK confused yet should I go on ?o_O

Don't forget I am only 10-15 minutes max south of New Hampshire in Central MA so heck guessing maybe they are in fact MWP? What I do know is they were $229 a ton for both 852543003066 and 449394 031717 they are mixing well with the Vandy's . Both of these pellets look very similar but there is a slight variance burn nearly the same .
Was in TSC which is right next to Wally's so I could not suppress my new found affliction (thanks to everyone here) and had to see what pellets they had there i mean heck its right next door. $4 a bag Pennington's at that price i figured Wth $12 bucks ill run one hopper through as see what happens . Had to pick through the pile in the store which had obviously been outside of the store being neglected, abused ect... Found three bags and headed off, cleaned the stove real nice to give these a fair going and screened them (lots of fines) and loaded them. New winner for the worst pellets I have burned Pennington

I use to buy from TSC, but not anymore. You never know what your getting. They use to get some better stuff like Hamer's, Somerset's, etc., etc.... Now you don't know what's in those blue & white bags. I just know they SUCK, no matter what's in them. So I just avoid buying pellets from TSC. Maybe they will slowly get the hint, but than again, probally not.

Pennington(6 votes) has the overall lead in the poll that closes in 3 days.
NA/Curran and WF Inc tied for second with 3 votes.

If more of us tried the Maeder Bros, They likely be giving the Pennington poo a good run going by Steve's test.

Did you ever get a chance to round up some dirt in a bag to come play in the voting??
