    Beautiful wood. That's mimosa? Never had any of it, bark looks like a dark beech to me.

    Yea it does resemble beech. Definitely a pretty wood just not much on btus

    Yep last summer was about the driest in my life. I cut red oak in spring and I've burned some of it this winter. It's around 20% on the meter! The two year rule don't apply down here:D

    Tulip poplar has to be about the easiest splitting wood I've encountered. Good confidence builder for the youngsters.
