Just getting the first fire going to cure the paint. Doors open, waiting for the inevitable smell. Very happy to finally have things working. Put the match to it at 7:40. Yay.
I think that's the first pic I've seen of a Sirocco in its natural environment. looks great. FYI, that new cat is going to be REALLY active for the first week or two. take it slow.
Ahhh. What a nice feeling having a stove going again. I was able to keep the heat high enough today to keep some windows open. I am cleaning and painting a house that had a lot of pet byproduct and cigarette smoke imbedded in it. The more air I can move through the better. I have an excellent painter. He finished today. The place looks brand new. The walls and ceilings are all textured and he made blemishes and holes disappear. Very nice job. My appliances come tomorrow and a couple of weeks for new carpets. And the Sirocco is keeping my wonderful company. : )
Bill, (I only ask cuz I don't know) why don't you have tile/brick/something in that corner behind your stove?
Hello Warped5. There is no mention of needing anything behind the stove in the owners manual. This is my 3rd Blaze King and none of the installation instructions have required it. The walls stay normal or barely warmer to my hand when I compare a wall a few feet away and behind and beside the stove.
My stove also does not mention the need for anything behind it but I liked this look. Maybe that is what Warped5 is asking about.
If it sits far enough away from combustibles you don't need anything. A non combustible surface sometimes lessens clearences but sometimes not.
