Got the rest of my red/white oak split this weekend. I love working with a straight grained wood, was able to make some nice blocks with it. Of course they may never season. Started here Finished here
nice....and some all nighters.....do you have 3 or 4 years to let them dry ? I worked up about a 1/2 a cord of white oak rounds with a few red's mixed in yesterday but I'll have to seek forgiveness as I didn't take pictures.
Now that's a good days work. Some big rounds there to be lifting up on that splitter your a better man than me.
No no, I put the splitter vertical and half or quarter the big ones before I go back horizontal. I had a micro-d on l5-s1 back in 2011, I "try" to be careful when I can.
Same here L5-S1 but back in 96 . At that time it was a BIG deal with days in the hospital and weeks out flat on my back. Been good for the most part since but as you said take it easy and careful.
Yep, tech had come a long way with the back. Mine was an outpatient procedure and was back to work with a lifting restriction in 2 weeks. Could've probably been faster if I wanted, I followed the Drs directions. I also have spondylolisthesis on the same level which may lead to a fusion at some point. I'm usually pain free but do my best not to "forget" I'm a back patient. Worst pain in my life and don't want to feel it again anytime soon.
Whoa rdust that is one beautiful bunch of firewood! A true wood burner's dream. Nice work getting that done especially knowing what your back is like. No wonder you have such a wonderful family that loves you! You are a good man.
And that Ladies and Gentleman is why I'm here. I can cut wood, and never talk to people who really care for others like us members do here. Dennis you speak for us all with that post.
