Correct, the decomp is both more of a traditional style and coming straight up through the top cover as opposed to using the odd spring that's normally the case on the 070/090 saws. There is something else very special about that saw. It's what you could reasonably call a "big bore" 090. It's a fabled 10-cube. Here are some shots of the two-piece head.

Dadgummet! At a quick glance I thought the decomp was in the other location. Like I told Brad, I guess that's what I get for slyly perusing the forums while pretending to show interest while shopping with my wife. I've just got 10-cube fever I guess...

So, what are your plans for the current a/f cover??

Gotcha. Well, not to turn this into a classifieds ad, but PM me if you're interested in selling any or all of your spares. I'm always on the lookout for 1106 series top covers and a/f covers. Frankly, I'm interested in about any 1106 series parts...

P.S. Having drooled a little more over the pics of your 090 I've decided that my new excuse for the crazy comment thinking your saw was a 10-cube is the custom decomp button! I like it . . . and now I want one...

Ditto....I've always thought the original decomp buttons on the 1106 saws was kinda cheesy.

Nothing like a good running 272. Excellent saw.
