Gas cans?

Has anyone recently bought a new gas can?

I ask, because the newer ones have that PITA twist/push/hold nozzles on them.

I know, take off the nozzle and pour with a funnel. But, I was wondering if anyone has found a newer gas can brand/type, that isn't such a PITA to use?

 

You can take those new ones apart, and do away with the stupid bits that aren't needed. Youtube search a vid of your specific can for instructions.

Ha - I am aware of Jill's cans. The video shows a button, and it states they don't leak.

 

My daughter went to get a gas can last August. I specifically told he to 'get the one that is easiest to use' .....

She cam back with one of those PITA EPA cans (marketed by B&S as I recall). As I recall, the thing caused me such frustration I wound up beating the hell out of it with a hammer.

I put a note on it saying 'Texting me a pic could have prevented this.'

I went out and found her one that's about 15 years old and have had no problems since.

 

The EPA spouts make me spill more gas than just pouring......

They are junk, just go to the hardware store and buy "water" spouts. Some come with the air vent plug as well. Can dump a 5 gallon can in well under a minute like the good ol days.

 

It is true, no bull ,They don't leak , I have 2 of em , 1.25 and 2.5 gal, they work great, many people on here have em , they are the only new type of cans out there that work good

I just replace the nozzles and put in a vent with these. EZ-POUR Universal Fuel & Water Jug Spout

 

They sell a kit at tractor supply that gives you a new nozzle and vent. Can't remember what I paid but it wasn't much.

 

That's the easy pour. Should be under $10 for a kit.

Jill's jugs get my vote too. Work 100% for me, no leaky, no crushy.

 

50 bones for a 5 gallon gas can! Mighty proud of them aren't they!

 

I personally use these off the bay.

I've purchased 6 of these aluminum vents, they are excellent. Every time I'm filling a can at a gas station I get talking to some dude who asks me where I got them or if I made them. Not always the same dude haha. Just drill a hole, put some epoxy on them, and pop them in. They screw down, so you can choose how much air go in... I didn't want to use some 10 cent plastic ones, they don't work well....

Agreed. I'm stick with my ragtag collection of various cans with the replacement EZ pour nozzles & vents.

 

I did the same thing with all of my cans.
