Oak's good, but beech seasons faster and it also has more btu's than oak.

    Both are great firewood though.

You do good work Woodsnwoods !

Not cutting in any roads, but thinning several beech trees. There are roads, but the snow makes it hard to see them.

Two more beeches hit the snow. Keeping 4 logs out for milling. Had a little hang up with a basswood, minor issue. Done dropping for now, start moving and splitting over the next few days. I know I dropped one onto the previous, but I will hook up the winch today and pull the limbs away with ease. If I was to do this without the winch, different approach. Couple more pics . First is the 461 with a 20 inch bar on the second tree stump. Last three just show where I worked the last two days. 4 beech, a small hard maple, an ash and some casualties. Wish I could just work in the woods for a living..... IMG_4205.JPG IMG_4206.JPG IMG_4207.JPG IMG_4208.JPG

I can't even tell you how many times I've thought that when I was out cutting. I love it so much as a hobby but wonder if it would turn into "just another job" if I was doing it for a living?
