Got her in the house, out of the crate and on her back for the leg install (next, after dinner). Steve, the heating contractor was here servicing my propane FA furnace today. Came up out of the crawl space and said did you know you have a two stage furnace but it isn't wired for it? He sold me a new thermostat, hooked up the extra wire and I hope it is more efficient as he suggested. We will need it tonight, its forecast sub zero. Wish the BK was ready to go but soon.
Of all the two stage furnaces I installed, I used a two stage t-stat only once. They all worked just fine with a standard t-stat. They run for somewhere from 12-20 minutes on low fire and if the call for heat is not satisfied the furnace automatically switches over to high fire and also increases the blower motor speed.
That's enough for tonight. Managed to get the legs on, put furniture pads on the feet to make it easy to slide on the tile and used a rubber backed rug to tip it up on. BIL was "on call" in case I couldn't tip it up solo. I'm glad he didn't have to come out, its 4 degrees with a wc of -9. Gonna get on the sweats and call it a night. Hot damm!
Good job moving it by your lonely there Bill. Work safe though. And get ready for members to start chiming in with questions about the need for a hearth after that last pic!
Fingers crossed. Heating contractor said he will be here Wednesday morning (12th) to do the chimney install. Supposed to be decent temp but 3 - 5 inches of snow possible.
Good luck with the install, Bill. Today will be out warm day as tomorrow will be cooler. We will also be getting the snow starting today. Looking forward to more pics!
Thanks Dave. We got the wet heavy snow happening right now. Installer called and asked if we could move to Thursday which I was OK with. Thursday the forecast is for partly sunny so it made sense. I am just hopeful that I can have my break in fire Friday or Saturday. : )
Yup, we got snow all day here but it was warm. (20's) Tomorrow will be back in the single digits for highs.
