    Little update:
Got to play with the stove yesterday with a small kindling and couple small split fire for the first break in fire! Got everything going and ended up with a temp next to the flue of about 275-300. Had it burning while I was installing some shelving in the pantry.

Today I installed the cat probe and lit a little bigger fire with 3-4 real splits, and got the same spot up to near 450. Paint stink wasn't too horrible, at least bearable. Builder gave us the go ahead to start moving some stuff in, so figured what better time than to burn the stove while fresh air was being introduced through opening doors.

Now only if my closing was going as smooth as this thing runs/burns........I'd be sitting in front of this beauty nightly instead of still waiting!:hair: It's been a triumph trying to appease the lender with the documents they have been requesting, ONE AT A TIME for the past 2 WEEKS (at least 8 different documents).:headbang::headbang::headbang:Apparently a list of all things missing at one time is too easy to come up with. I wish I could do my job this sloppy and get away with it!!

Sconnie, unfortunately, at this point in the process, the lender holds all the cards???

    Hang in there.

mortgage lending is ridiculous. but it now goes thru 3 different departments approval, underwriting and compliance (maybe more) so at leat now it's not 1 person.. it's 3 that telling your rep what they want... your rep doesn't know what Program they are putting you in they change based on documents so trust me they are as frustrated as you!

Oh I am! It will all be worth it in the end! How does the saying go? Don't bite the hand that feeds? They are the ones supplying the funds so....we wait, and wait, and wait. It will happen eventually!

Very nice! I didn't get to see a whole lot other than flames on the first burn obviously with the little amount of wood I wasn't able to really get the temps up to get those to fire.

The second burn was a lot more fun. :thumbs:Got it warm enough to get the secondaries rolling on top and also got to slide the draft down to get the black box and watch the cat temps creep up to about 1300. And not even a whisp of smoke out the chimney top!!:D Simply amazing. I am REALLY anxious to get this thing actually heating!

Sounds great. I like the somewhat bold color choice too.

    Hi Sconnie,
Could you post a better pic of the top of your stove? I might just get the same design. :) Seeing your stove really gets me excited to get ours. Very nice!!!

All the art was custom designed by my wife, but I'm sure they have them on file to be replicated!

Was out again yesterday and had it really choochin! House thermo was set at 45 when I got there. Turned the NG furnace up to 60. Fired up the stove with a FULL load of red oak. It kept the furnace off and raised the temp 2 degrees by the time we left and it was down to coals (about 6 hrs.) It took along time to heat the structure of the house up when it was that cold inside! I think this thing is going to serve us quite nicely!! I'm quite impressed with it heating from an unfinished basement with bare concrete floor thus far.

Had the top near the flue up to 520 when it peaked, and the front next to the cat probe was 670 or so. I'm also impressed with how long it holds these temps! I was used to a sharp peak and quite quick drop with a tube stove. This thing is a lot softer heat that gets spread out over a way longer period for sure. The top was still about 325 when we left and the face was still 450ish.
