It was 6 degrees this morning, we just went with the P.S. so it was 70 in here this morning. I shut the P.S. off this morning and I loaded the Liberty up with some Ash,Beech,Sugar and the last of the Cherry........until March.
-3 or -4 this am (couldn't quite make out the reading.....it's an old school thermo). 68 IAT, so I did the usual coal push and pull, then loaded 5 splits of Oak and Maple and turned down the DV to it's lowest setting. IAT is now 70 and rising.

We're at 20 currently.... but it sure don't feel that way... need to bring some more wood up to the house at some point today, for the week....I try to replenish what I use on a week... in case one week I can't...
20ºF right now, was 11ºF earlier. Snow up to my knee last night. Supposed to warm up and get some rain Tuesday and Wednesday. Should make for a nice soupy, gloppy, heavy mess. Doesn't look like I'll be doing much cutting and splitting this week. Burning oak and pine, but soon to be a mix of a little of this and that that I found on the back side of a stack when I stocked up close to the house before the storm yesterday.
currently 20*. Woke up to 11*. Burning some oak and maple in the Fireview. Its throwing out some great heat.
was 3 below this morning got cold and windy afternoon yesterday but I had so much company I never really checked.. but the real story is after being outside for an hour.... it got crowded in stove room next to IS .. now supposed to go snow freezing rain sleet.. which will definitely turn ground to another sheet of ice... had bonfire outside last nite and all 6 of us said to cold not worth it!
Did a mid afternoon load after burning down coals. We are under a wind chill warning through tonight and tomorrow morning, down to - 35°F possible.
15º now, made it to 20º today with anemic sunshine as the forecaster says. Heading for 6º tonight, have some red oak and ash rounds going for the evening burn, 73º inside. Topped off the cord hoard on the patio and threw the football with my baby boy right before we lost daylight. Locust and some other variety will go in tonight.
Made it to above zero on the thermometer, but once again, still below zero with the wind chill. -15 all day with the wind. It was good to stay put once again.
AH...now they have dropped it to 4º tonight with windchill at -6º, supposed to make it to 28º tomorrow, gonna hook up with a good friend and give it one last college try for muzzleloader season. Sat in the stand yesterday evening for 2 hrs at 5º and watched a small doe mosey around for 45 minutes but she was still in kindergarten so she got a hall pass.
16* and a few pieces of oak went in an hour or so ago, just to keep the water up to temp. I will fill the thing after the grandkids leave.
OK. It's cold now! When the Baker FPI can't keep the house warm and I have to fire up the smoke dragon in the back room, I consider winter as having officially arrived. Woke up this morning with 8° and a 20mph breeze. Inside it had gotten down to 56°. Typically it drops to around 65°. Still burning the ash and a little cherry. I would love to grab some of the oak but it's buried a little too deep for me to get to it right now.
Still dropping here. Looks like about -2°F. A slight breeze not making things any warmer. I finished charging the basement with heat up to 80°. The boiler has just been filled about 3/4 of the way with a nice mix of Ash, Elm, and a good size split of what looked like Oak.
Current temp 3°F headed down to - 12°F. Still waiting on the wind to arrive, when it does negative 35 deg possible. Loaded the stove with a bunch of ash and maple rounds.
