My son and grandson came this weekend and helped me cut some pretty good loads. White oak, Hickory. Now I have some splitting to do. My 13 year old grandson Trent splitting with his new Fukars ISO maul I got him for Chritmas. My son Doug bucking the rounds Without these 2, this old man couldn't keep up.
Thanks. You are young. Value it because although the love of Burning wood never goes away, your ability to feed the wood stacks and the stove gets more difficult every day. Chief
Being able to spend time with your son and grandson is great. Would've been a great visit even without the wood. Getting firewood out of the deal is pure sweet icing on the cake. no?
Thanks and yes he is strong young man, Both body mind and character. I'm prejudiced, but I think he is an exceptional young man and I love him with all my heart and soul. Would step in front of a freight train to protect my Little Man. Thrre was a good size river in the bottom just behind him in the pic. It was frozen out about 3 ft from the bank and then flowing water. Being a typical boy, he wanted to go down in the bottom and mess around. His dad and I both told him don't get closer than 20 feet to the edge of the river ice because if you go in both of us will probably drowned trying to save you ( it was 12 degrees). Chief
As I've told you before Chief, it is great that you have family to help you especially knowing the problems you have with RA. Even without that, it is beautiful to work with family.
Don't worry, it will be a Dennis stack when I get done with it. Edit: might take a will though the dang splitter is frozen in horizontal
Yes, just not as easy. After all, God meant for it to be split the way it grows; horizontally. Ask your pastor.
