We have a few below 0 nights coming up with teen's for the high, and a couple of cord right by the back door is comforting to say the least. Then by friggin tuesday it's supposed to be a *$##*&&% forty f**#@$% degree and rain:hair::hair:. I hate winter rain!
This box is close to 128 cu/ft, I think between 3/4 & 7/8 cord but it's been a while since I actually measured it. This is it's second filling this season and I have another slightly smaller moving box that I'm pulling out of right now and it's also been filled twice. So far we have only used just under 2 cord, I'm good with that, this wood is leftover (if there is such a thing) from what was officially allocated for use during the 15/16 season, I hope it's still good.
I mainly had to take a pic of this wood on the forks on the back of the tractor. I haven't been able to do that before now (I built an adaptor) and with the loader off & the snowplow on, I had to use the skid steer. (right now the tractor is my favorite), after all, it is all about the toy's.

If it is more than a month past the expiration date, I throw it out, you just don't want to taking chances with spoiled wood. I lost a good friend that way, he didn't realize it had turned sour.:rofl:

I so wish you lived next to me fuelrod , You could come over and "play" with your toys around my wood anytime! That is a great set up you got going there. Great pics. I know what you mean about the warm rain coming to screw everything up. Pizz me off. We start to get a nice packed snow surface to work with/on, then we'll have water, then mud, then ice on the ruts in the mud that refroze when it gets cold again. And then it will snow again on the ruts in the frozen mud that you can't plow good. I'm done.

I too am not a lover of rain in winter months. But at least not as bad when no snow on the ground. But then, we are expecting some snow before the rain. That will be nasty.

Nice set up you've got there. 3/4 - 7/8 cord is a lot of weight. I built some pallets that hold closer to 1/3-1/2 cord. When I pick em up with my 73 hp JD I know I've got something! Your tractor handle those pretty easily?

Do you have a front end loader & forks for it? I do a lot better picking mine up with 3pt. Hitch forks. FEL with forks gets the weight to far out. Rear end gets light.

3 point rating appears to be about 4600# on the Kubota 9540 what kind of forks are you using,
mine are to flexible to pick up much over 2k even thou my tractor is rated for over 3k.

The loader is off for snow plowing duty. I do have a big skid steer that has no problem with them but it' sits outside and I really hated to warm it up from the teens just for 10 minutes of running time when the tractor was warm already. I think if I had the loader and a heavy bucket or the grapple on it would be fine. The rear 3pt. is supposed to lift 11k or something silly with the 12 speed. good luck with steering that.
Those forks are heavy replacements, I bent the first set picking/prying big rocks out of the hayfield.

Got em at an auction . JD heavy duty set. Not made specially for 3ph but modified to fit. Not really sure what they came off but they are heavy.
