Yeah the wind is a bugger for sure. Im amazed at how well my 2 cf stove does at heating this house but I start loosing temperature around -25c with no wind. Im home off and on through the day so that makes a big difference I think. The reason I asked is because at 40f I have to be careful not to over load the stove otherwise it gets way to hot in here and the wife gets cranky.

It got up to 88 degrees here today. I gave up on splitting for a while and started again at 6 when it cooled down a little. 72 degrees now at 10:20pm.

Got some more work to do tomorrow but it's going to be 86 with possible thunderstorms.

That's right, my family moved to Maine in 84, we lived on a dairy farm in Two Taverns while in G-burg...nice place to grow up.

It got down to 6° last night. Winds were blowing up to 35 mph. Burning extra gooder ironwood, shagbark, and beech in the quadrafire. The furnace only came on after I rechooched before leaving for work this am. Chili in the crock pot to help heat the house today.

The house will be toasty and smell extra good when I arrive home.

It was 35 last night so we went with another load of Cherry, the temp never changed this morning (35) so I cleaned out some ashes and then loaded up with some Cherry.

This has been the best storm this area has had in years, it's been raining pretty good here since yesterday evening....... 40°F outside and a nice and toasty 75° inside. The mountains are getting feet of snow and there was even an avalanche between Lake Tahoe and Reno that went across a highway and hit 3 cars no one was hurt.:)I'm at 5300' and the snow level is at 6000' right now.

We did not get the snow that was forecasted (I guess that means alot of weatherman are going to lose their jobs) but it never got above zero today and was windy all day long. Wind chills were right around -30 all day.

    Can't wait for night time.....

Well winter is back, lows are headed to the teen's and maybe a single digit here or there. And the news that had the grocery store parking lot completely filled, 1" maybe 2" of snow, so I should be snowed in for a few weeks.
