Bogieb Thank you kindly for your experience, knowledge, and certainly well versed opinion. It is comforting to know so many experienced people exist on this forum and share their experience and knowledge with others. Some day it seems inevitable I will own a high end stove and I will certainly refer to your response as a reference to my search .
    Thanks Bogie !

Bring It Brother ! Always open to improvement and advice !
Sub thanks for the Info getting a better idea of what maintenance is involved with a pellet stove . It takes a little longer for this stove to cool down but about the same time to do my daily maintance if not less.
    Thanks Sub

That is after cool down on my stove as well. 45 min to an hour to cool it down enough to get into it. I don't let mine shut down all the way. Once it's cool enough to work on, I open the door. This prevents my exhaust blower from shutting down. That way the ash I stir up is mostly exhausted instead of in my face and spread throughout the house. You may want to see if your stove does the same.

You might try a temporary jumper across the proof-of-fire switch - it might bring the fans on even with a cold stove. That's what I do on mine, and it sucks the ash dust out quite well while I'm cleaning. Of course, remove the jumper before starting the stove.

Luneyburg, I see hills of central mass as your location. I grew up on Winter Hill in Worcester, an I know how much colder it is up there!

My Brother lives up there myself I live 20 miles north
Bhags My Brother lives on a hill still within Worcester and yes its cold and Snowy, your memory serves you right . I live about 20 miles north of Worcester in Northern Worcester County in Lunenburg as cold if not more so and even more snow. Amazing the difference between here and Boston where I work , we have probably had almost 2' of snow where Boston has maybe had 2" . Always 10-15 degrees colder here than Boston , we are only 10-15 minutes south of New Hampshire .

Knowing the exhaust path and keeping it and the heat exchanger (if it's a tube type) clean is a must. The airflow through the stove is number one for efficiency. So you're on the right track!
