New site that was logged in the summer. Haven't seen it yet, but my cutting partner says it's Oak, Cherry, Maple, & Beech tops. Doesn't get much better than that. Ground's pretty hard, & we'll have His tractor & my dump trailer. Should be pretty productive.
28 now ,temperature rising to around 32 by 5am. Wind Speed S 8 mph loading ash with a couple pieces of red oak
Current temp 0° going up to 27° with another 3"snow expected. Loaded the oakleaf with a bunch of ash.
31º out, just getting ready to load some cherry and ash in the Buck stove and head out for some firewood fetching. Hope to get into some ash and sugar maple if the ground is solid enough where I need to get to. If not that, we'll find something to cut and haul home. Rain to start about noon so crossing my fingers it holds off till I get a decent load. Last load this year.
Just over 10 about 8:30 this morning. Ash and Pine going in the boiler. Wifey added some while I was still in bed.
We had 16 this morning, more Cherry in the Liberty and the Pellet Stove is off. The sleeper was 72 this morning with the living room at 70.
Just heard the plow rumble past the house. Didn't get all that much probably around 5-6 I think. low 20's now.
Arrggghh! Just got done with the shoveling and as I'm dressing to run some errands, I looks out the window and see it snowing again!!! Heikki Lunta is messing with me!
31 with wind allegedly making it feel like 11.. 530 load took me to 1900 on some gnarly old yard maple, just refilled with some more. Going to jack the heat up a bit to 67 as it's windy and the floors are cold. Got some snacks and a couple adult beverages on deck - can't have mama running around on cold floors while I burp the baby!
No fire in the stove now... The One That Consumes is getting anxious again. Will be starting the overnight fire at about 11:15 and then out to the driveway to watch the fireworks from the next door ski resort. We have an unobstructed view of the top of the mountain where New Years fireworks are set off. Currently about 40F out... got to about 45F today, so didn't need an all day fire. Will be burning a combo of larch, a couple splits of oak, and perhaps an elm split or two. Check in with everyone next year... that is, about 52 minutes from now!
About 24, snow coming down lightly. They had called for a possible 3-6" again. So far we may have an inch. Last time, two days ago, they called for 3-6", some said 3-9". We got 3. I'm not complaining. Ash and Pine in boiler.
Current temp 31° never loaded the stove last night because it was pleny warm. House only went down to 65° Loaded the oakleaf this am with a bunch of soft maple and pine. Expected highs today 31°
29º at 6:30 this morning when I arose. 71º inside, burning down a stove load of ash, oak and a piece of locust. Will load with ash for the day, supposed to be sunny and 39º to start 2017......blessings to one and all this year and may God be gracious to you and yours.
Let my doe beater tend to the beast out back. Should be mostly say burning. Long weekend in the workhouse with upper 30's or more and a chance of rain.
