I finally got done with my last batch of shortbread yesterday so I am ready for family gatherings. Everyone has learned to expect some shortbread from me and there is no place you can buy anything that comes close to home made.

I'm feeling much better the last couple of days 460magpro , thanks. We have rain moving in so today will be another day the saws stay silent.

I haven't looked at the weather for tomorrow but I'll have the saws ready if the weathers ok.

I finally made it out to this damaged yellow birch which gave us 26 rounds of a nice workable size. The wind gust started to pickup so I called it a day.

Especially with the dead pines in that area, it really didn't pickup in the area I was working until I was loading the wood in the trailer, up top was a whole different story.........the wind up there had the trees a swaying.

Hopefully the rain we're getting will uncover some of the downed stuff on this new trail I want cleared, it's next to the yellow birch I dropped today.

We have some damaged maple and cherry back here.

I haven't told the wife but I would like to extend her walking trail in this area too. I always like three trails running east to west and another three running north to south.

Watch out where the huskies go. Don't you eat that yellow snow.

Well Zap, I have to admit there have been a few times I've had to head back to the house for something I forgot. One time I had to do that twice. Now that is ridiculous.

I stayed out of the woods today except for getting some sand, I remember what an oldtimer from up here always said after a hard rain........stay out of the woods for two days which will give the rotten branches time to fall.

Usually I'm forgetting things in the woods, I still gotta find that item I told you about.

I'll find it, I was looking at some pictures from cutting in the woods and the last time I had a picture of it was 1-1-16.
