The city was taking down several trees in town and 3 was within about 100 feet or less. 2 BIG soft maple [love the stuff] and a large black oak. Started around noon each day 1st day 6 loads, 2nd day 4 loads tired from the first day, a day of rain then the forth day 7 loads and the last day 4 loads. Got 14 loads of soft maple and seven loads of oak. Now I had loading help on about half the rest was me ,myself and I. They - the tree company normally cut -load and gone BUT I talked to the tree company owner and he said he would come back and load/clean up after he got the rest of the trees done that way I can get all I wanted as fast as I could get my fat butt moving . So I loaded a few loads as they where about 6 foot long. I hauled them home in a 4x8 trailer. I have split about 1 load off of it so far.

Fellow subject in "The People's Republik of Illinoiz" here.......................I pride myself in knowing where most cities, villages and towns are in this "once great state." But I have no idea, without cheating, where Kansas, IL is!!!!

And I'm jealous of the scrounge!!! Good job!!!

What does this do to your stockpile? Are you already ahead or will it put you on the 3 year plan? Got enough room to keep hoarding after that's all CSS?

The oak will not be used till 2020 maple will be 2018. I should of took a couple pictures of a load or two. I had more than a pickup load on the LIGHT trailer. I don't think I did to bad for a 62 year old man. After this is split I can take on about this amount again 2 more times maybe three.

Not too bad of a load for a 42 year old man either!

Not too bad for any age man or woman. You did great tigeroak It doesn't look like much crooked stuff in there so this will be nice. Some might be cut a bit weird but you have to expect that with tree services. I can imagine some of those trunks must be quite large. Overall, this is a great Christmas present. I would not have turned that one down either.
