Good morning, a cool 14 degrees with lower 30's guessed at.
Tend the owb, locust and sech, and start a fire in the garage, ash/maple,, gotta' go into work for a couple hours for mandatory dept. meeting (bummer) but the chief is having catered ribs with the fixins..
I'd rather go to the woods!

It's a great combo to have when the colder weather hits.

We've only burned 10 bags this year.

Current temp 15°F only dropping a few more degrees before a major warm-up tomorrow approaching the freezing mark. Oakleaf loaded with my usual mix.

Beautiful today. A high of 51*. It did not take much to get the house warmed up. Went out side and graded the road with the tractor, got some crank seals in for a saw I am working on and installed them, filled up the garage with wood and kindling, and cut split and did some more stacking. Wow it was like coming out of hibernation after that cold spell. Hopefully you guys in east will see some of this.

It's 29 out tonight so we have a load of cherry going in the liberty. By the looks of the temps coming up the pellet stove will get a break.

We still have about two face cord of cherry left that we had up for the shoulder season.

Were still burning 23/7 but it got up to 0c today! We had a fair amount of snow over the last few days which is good for skiers. Im getting ready to do an over night burn of larch but Ive told the wife to let it go cold in the morning since it might get up to 2 c and its time to clean the glass, long work day tomorrow etc.... Its currently -4c. Feels balmy after two weeks of cold weather.
