I think my M55 has a lower glass gasket leak

Mornin! So I'm cleaning the glass trying to get rid of some stubborn spots on the bottom part of the glass, until I realize that it's all on the outside! (I had none of this a week ago, so this has all happened since my last weekly clean) The paint that has peeled off the bottom right part of the door frame, that happened over a year ago. The door seal is tight and the entire bottom edge and lowest part of the front of the door is clean with no ash deposits. So.....

1) I assume that either I will need to replace the glass, or If I can, get just the gasket. Or by any chance, just put in a continuous bead of an appropriate gasket cement along the length of the bottom. Your thoughts greatly appreciated,
2) I can feel the spots on the glass but neither Rutland glass cleaner or an SOS pad can remove the spots.
I am sure there is another product that will remove them but I am very confused...
Inside the box, very hot. On the outside of the glass not as hot and yet the stuff is baked on...

Have you ever replaced the glass gasket before? It may be due. Rultand and Meeco stove glass cleaner should get that off and possibly a wet paper towel dipped in some ash.

 

Thanks slvrbllk! no I have never replaced. I did order one this AM and "should" get on Fri/Sat. Again, the spots are on the outside of the glass and it feels rough if you run your fingers over it. Rutland spray cleaner and cream cleaner won't do a thing. I tried a small very thin flat head screw driver, (no razor blade available) an SOS pad and even some gasoline the glass came out fine no scratches or damage...but the spots are still there. The inside of the glass is fine. I guess my primary question is if I can continue to use stove until later this week? Any safety concerns?

Update... Glass is now clean, SOS did the trick, glass is fine. Bit the radish and put down a bead of high temp gasket cement on both the inside and outside bottom channel, waiting to dry.....

I actually wonder why it would be pushing out with the negative pressure going on inside the stove. jtakeman has an Enviro maybe he'll chime in.

 

So it has been suggested that maybe the gasket is fine but somehow I got some Dust/Ash/Dirt that electrostatically got stuck to the glass and wholly crap I know what happened!!!!! I use a 360 Swifter to Dust off the pellet dust from my stove surfaces when filling it up with pellets...I remember taking the swifter and cleaning the decorative cast iron door frame which sits a scant inch from the glass. The brownish crud on the outside bottom of my glass was nothing more than melted 360 Swifter feathers and collected dust! Good night, I need a drinkBill
