papadave, can you work your secret DJ skillz and queue us up some CCR? Look for "Keep on Chooglin'" which is the way it should be called.... Waitaminute...... Got it.....
The doghouse air comes in from under the front of the stove. 2 small square holes (unregulated). Not connected to the primary at all. The primary air (air wash) comes from the 3" round hole at the back of the stove.
Thank you. Sorry, I am not expressing myself well. What I mean is, does air come in under the lip (angle) on both sides of the doghouse? It seems there is an opening there. See poor photo below.
I read 634° on my stove shortly after that pic. The house temp rose up to 67 and it's 1 degree F outside. She's earning her keep.
17 F at Midnight... Loaded up for the night run. Mulberry, Hedge, and on short chunk of oak.... I got 14 hours of burn time and 71 degrees left in the house yesterday when I got home... with a nice bed of coals...
Nope. No air there at all. It's a good idea to clean the ash out from under there every once in awhile. Doghouse is the only air on the bottom.
Lower single digits tonight. Loaded the 30 the the best I could tonight. 2 pieces of Hickory and the other 7 are ash.
In these temps at the 10hr mark indoor temps start dropping. Plenty of heat still in the stove but 300* temps can't maintain in the single digits. I stopped in after getting my son from school at the 10hr mark and it was 77 in the stove room, 2hrs later it was 71.
Here's the load I just put in..............Could have maybe put another small piece up on the top right there, but I hadn't brought any in.
