Yea, good to see the threshold of what this new stove will do for us. The lights kicked on in the pump house at some point, temp in there was 39°F when i went to bed, oil kicked on around 6am, but it's set kind of high anyway. This temp at the old place, i would've had to get up around 3- 4 in the morning for a reload. Not bad i'd say :)

I had 7 deg. at 0500 before going to work. I filled the stove with Oak, Maple before bed. The house was still warm with a lot of coals in the stove, the wife will bring it back to life upon arising from lala land.

45 F outside. I put in three sticks of oak last night hoping they would burn very slowly and not heat the house up too much. We have the door open this morning!

    image.jpg Sitting at -18 C ( 0 F) but there's a 20 km wind to go with. I think I'd rather have -25 C and calm.

Poplar and a random piece of willow feeding the machine. Trying to capture the essence of "window cleaning mode" burn tubes are glowing.

I can't say I could tell the difference between -5ºF and 3ºF. Once it is that cold it just feels cold. Time to get indoors.

At 10ºC I would be out riding my motorcycle and enjoying the warmth. It is about -3ºC here today. I hate to find ice on the roads the hard way.

Up to 35 today and only supposed to go to 30 tonight, 3" of snow on the ground now but supposed to climb near 40º tomorrow so probably be gone. Put a few small rounds of cherry and ash in to carry us to bedtime. By Wed. night and Thurs looking like close to zero....might need to run to thewoodlands for some beech, he won't mind he has plenty of cherry.....:D

I'm burning down some coals before I load up some cherry for the overnight burn, the low for tonight should be around 24.

How low will the temps go in your area when the real cold weather moves in?

Friday dropped to 19F high 42F, Saturday 18F high 44F, and this morning 26F warmed to 52F today but a front will actually give us a higher 54-55 overnight with rain

When an actual 24-48hr sub freezing front moves in it will be single to low teens with highs in the 20's-low 30's....thanks for reminding me January is round the corner:D

I was just looking at our forecast for Christmas day, they have an inch of ice coming in.

I'm sure it will change, hopefully for the better.
