Big day of dead ash trees tomorrow on my place. Replacing with swamp white oaks in spring.

You have some nice equipment there. Super trailer and that lifting thing you are standing on. Very nice. Glad you use machinery instead of your back. I wish more folks use tools to do the heavy stuff.

 

the trailer is mine, but the cool little grapple belongs to my arborist friend and that's his guy driving it. Nice machine, I think it can pick up like 800 or 1000 pounds.

Not sure I could afford one of those, maybe 20k!

I just breathe deeply and tell myself that's over 100 cords of wood I'd have to sell. It helps a little.

 

Yup... they don't give em away I'll bet. Got me thinking about renting one (if I could find one in Maine) It would be the perfect tool to fix up a 300' stonewall along the road, out front. My ole back vetoes any thoughts of doing that now without hydraulic help. I have thought about whipping up a 3 fingered rock pickerupper, that ran off my claw on the JD. That walk behind rig looks like the ultimate stonewall helper tho...
