We have been in our house five years now and my back barn has never had electric because the old feed to it was blown up in the ground somewhere finally had a few extra pennies and put it on my to do list and last night while it was pitch black out and started downpouring I finished this.... cord illumination ! Can even anytime day or night now
Nice!! I need to do the same thing and put a flood light up on my shed over my stacks. I don't even have an excuse, there's a circuit box out there with plenty of open slots!
Lights and a plug inside, switched flood outside under the overhang for stacking and bringing wood to the house then a 3 head LED flood on a photo eye out front the one in the picture
Did that on the front of the house facing right into the wood shed, so I can see what I'm getting when I go out for firewood at night. Two led "bulbs" in the motion sensor fixture. It's a beautiful thing.
It's sure going to be nice since it's been getting dark starting around 5pm nothing like your area I bet and LED as in light emitting diode it's supposed to equal 3 -100watt incandescent flood bulbs as far as brightness but only draw 33 watts
That's going to be nice I got light on the front of the pole barn but not much light out back. I have 4 different headlights I use to fetch wood, it works
I just got 3 4-foot fluorescents in my pole barn. It is great being able to work out there after dark.
Wait is that the cord god shining down over the stacks? No just me stacking under the new light before the snow around 8:30 tonight. P.s. The mrs. was having a party in the house with a bunch of friends and that means there's only one thing to do! Final count through careful measurement and calculation!!!! 6.64 cord C.S.S :stacke:
Gotta love those LED light every month when you get you electric bill. I have 5 or 6 of them lit outside. One big one at my front door. I can look out and watch the snow etc. Also, no one can sneak up without being in the light.
Nice lights and work J.Dirt! I just had three LED shop lights installed down the middle of the barn. Very nice!
If you already have fluorescent light fixtures, they are easy to convert to LED. So far I have only done 2 sets but it takes about 30 minutes per fixture to do the rewire to LED only. A few wire nuts to reconnect the wires after you cut out the ballast and you will be done, plus the LED tube of course. 1000bulbs.com has them on sale right now for 10% off their regular $6.99 per 4 foot tube. Use code T8DEALS to get the discount. In my family room I converted a fixture that was slowly dying just for practice. Then I did a fixture at a fish club meeting as a presentation to the club, hence the need to practice first. I figure a new fluorescent tube costs about $5 to $6 locally and every other time I replace a tube I need to buy a new ballast at $10 to $15. For an extra buck a tube I get LEDs that basically don't burn out, have no trouble at low ambient temperatures, never need a ballast and use less power per lumen of illumination than the T-8 fluorescents they are replacing. I consider it an all around win. There seems to be no standard configuration for the T-8 LED tubes yet, so read the details of whichever tube you buy to be sure how to match it with fixture wiring. I know how to do it with the batch of LED tubes I bought so I just do them all the same way as fixtures or ballasts fail.
