With cold snap my house is not getting the heat like in the past. My furnace has been on since the 1st and my brand of pellets has been tested for two years.

Mine is running parallel into my furnace. My furnace goes down every two weeks for cleaning so not a lack of maintenance . House is 65 degrees, 20 mph. winds but we have survived 3 winters here now.

    Any ideas to look at?

    Much betterer.

What are the t-stats set at? Any registers closed? Outside temp?
Any leaks in the duct work?

Could be the pellets are not so good this year, try a few bags of another brand. Process of elimination to get the easy stuff first. Might be time to get the BFH out:whistle: Is it windier this year, house could be drafty.

I notice that too, the flame size and wildness changes bag to bag.

Moisture content from being stored outside? We keep a bag or two on-deck, sitting by the stove & opened up for at least a day or so before they go in the Hopper.

All my pellets are stored in garages and 2 ton in dry basement. Moved setting to #4 and temp is up. I have charted pellet volume, outside and inside temperatures for the last three years so have a baseline. Thinking pellets variance might be the issue. I run on levels 3 and 4 only for winter. Going to reduce exits in my ductwork since mine is running into oil furnace. The air volume on 50F is only 800 cfm.

I don't give an RA about any prior seasons and for your information it is winter in most of your state I have frost on the elephant's trunk in tropical Standish, Maine. Hope you aren't wasting your CFMs due too crap on your convection fans or the speed at which you run them or leaks in the old duck work (flow meter readings if possible, seen tons of systems not producing enough airflow).

I understand that Jay's hack of IHP's burn pot is doing well so far. I hope my replacement holds together I should know once I'm through the bags of pellets in my burn room.
