Sitting at -16 C (3 F) at the moment, -25 C (-13 F) if you count the wind chill factor.

Thats exactly it. Our last husky would come in for a short while and then wanted to go back outside and curl up in the snow (he was also half wolf). This one is a pure bred and loves the snow and being outside but wants to curl up on the couch next to us when were home. I swear she thinks shes a cat sometimes. We dont mind as we enjoy her company as well. I still work at it to give her lots of outside time including her overnight sleep on most days but the coldest.

Were at -26c/-15f at the moment under clear skies and dead calm. The furnace kicked on for a bit this morning which I dont mind so much considering my house is 2600 sq ft. Its pretty hard to heat that kind of square footage off of a 2 cf stove in these temps. Stove is full of the usual doug fir/pine. During the coldest weather fronts you are colder than me so Im suspecting the deepest cold will be on your door step in no time.

That's a bit on the chilly side! Yeah no doubt we'll all get our share of the cold soon enough. The 14 day forecast tells me it's going to get colder, warm up, colder, then warm up again to about the -15 C range by Christmas.

Me and my son loaded up the wood racks today.. Still only had a few fires in the 30-NC downstairs... I wait till it's a little below freezing now.

Otherwise I just let the pellet furnace do the dirty work..... Actually, it's pretty clean! Cleaner than Wood anyways :)

Temp is gonna drop out tomorrow and we have a bit of snow in the forecast. So I'll fire the 30 up tomorrow after work!!

    But it's clean and ready!

Currently 33° here (feels like 26°).

34f in Possum Hollow at the moment . The Hastings is sure earning its keep. I think I'll fire up the Princess when I get home. She who thinks she must be obeyed is working 6-6 in dispatch , so she might appreciate the upstairs being warm. We'll see.

32 here. Just got home from work and loaded the owb with some cherry that might be on the rotten side...

Came from the property bordering mine - neighbor said "hey, you want this tree?" so of course I says "Ayuh, thank you very much, I will cut her down shortly" and the next day I found it bucked up right on my side of the property line. Turns out her son has a saw that doesn't get out to play too often since they heat with oil. Split her up about ten months ago, and into the boiler she goes this evening!

Lol! My wife thinks I'm goofy for telling her her how cold it is outside based on how the snow sounds! True though, innit?

I gave in.... I figured I'd better build some heat downstairs and have some coals to just throw a few splits on when I get home tomorrow .
    20161207_203901.jpg

Burned some small stuff for a coal bed and now have 3 large splits burning (tunnel of love). My favorite load to burn when I'm home. Lots of secondaries and plenty of heat.

I'll have plenty of coals tomorrow when I get home to start from

Also a pic of the Pellet furnace (foreground) and woodstove going (background).

Currently 28°F loaded the oakleaf with maple birch and pine. Friday night, expecting lows around 11, and Saturday night- zero deg.
