My vet give me heck every time I mention giving my dogs a McDonald's hamburger. She says giving dogs any high fat foods can lead to pancreatitis. I found this on the net "Cooked fat can also potentially lead to a problem such as pancreatitis. Many pets have been known to get pancreatitis after their owners have fed them the cooked skin of the chicken they were eating. Of course, the owner thought they were giving the dog or cat a nice treat or snack, but it can cause health problems."

Yeah but they could've lived a worse life dying of starvation or predation in the woods - they get tiny bits of scraps in moderation
Only one purebred here that lives a much better non-neglected life than he previously had ;)

I know you take good care of your fur friends. I like to think I do also, most of them living to be 16 or so. My vet looks at me, I am very overweight, and then looks at my dog giving me a lecture. Like I am going to kill them with kindness. I'm a little paranoid about those lectures and think in reality, she is aiming it my bad eating habits. They have changed for the better, but I have a long ways to go. My poor mutts haven't been fed another hamburger for months. Neither of us eat much of that fast food now. I try to do better, but not perfect.

Horkn . She has been known to put three goats in the back of the truck so if she gets stuck she takes them out and holds their favorite treat about 5 feet out in front of them. Truck out!
