Our weather is pegged for -9 C overnight then -10 c in the morning. It only gets cooler from there, so I'd say she's going to be back to normal.
I'm another hour or so, will load the oakleaf with birch, hard maple, and ash. Overnight temps expected to drop to the mid teens.
34 now, low tonight 31, big flakes of snow coming down right now 2 inches or less predicted, won't last long anyway. Burnin ash n boxelder mix
Its still mild here at -6 c. It snowed about 10 inches so far today making it quite pretty. I took the opportunity to load the garage with my over night woods, larch and a bit of birch. Its so much nicer pulling splits from my attached garage instead of messing with snow and tarps in the back yard at night. I threw a pic of Tundra chewing on an ice block just for the heck of it. When we're in the yard we have her on a run since she would jump the fence if untied. we took the larch from the section where you see the plywood leaning up. The weather is expected to get colder in the next few days so its nice to have my overnight wood close by. On the opposite side of where this is we keep about the same amount of fir and lodgepole pine for day time burning. Probably a bit off topic for this thread so Ill add that Im burning fir and lodgepole at the moment before I grab a few of these splits and stuff er full for bedtime.
Gonna' have lower 40's today, no rain, no snow. Gonna' chunk a few hunks of locust in that Greedy Hungry Beast out back before heading out for work.
32° and my greedy hungry beast had a pile of coals from last night yet, so I tossed in a few chunks of pine to keep it's belly from growling too much.
Environment Canada website forecast 2-4 cm of snow. Woke up to 8 inches and not a bleeding snowplow within a thousand miles. I was an hour late getting to work and at least that much getting home (was stuck for a awhile behind some old doll going a breakneck speed of at least 10 MPH). Just had supper and sitting by the fire, have absolutely no intention to move or go anywhere. Looks like I will have to postpone putting up the pool for a couple weeks.....
Yes, absolutely! Welcome to FHC Grahamt Burning elm, and some basswood. I thought I burnt all of the basswood up with the super long shoulder season, but I just found a few more splits. It's about 32 today. But the cold windy stuff is coming. Later this week 22 will be the high, and that's only because Lake Michigan is relatively warm. We had about 3" of snow yesterday.
We have 32 degrees tonight so I just loaded up more cherry in the liberty. It's 74 in the basement and it's 74 in the bedroom.
Finally broke down and bought a ton of pellets today. I forget the brand, but they're made down at St. Anthony, IN. Burning pellets this evening. It's right at 32 in Possum Hollow. Still no fire in the Princess . Maybe tomorrow .
18 deg. here now with 2" of snow on the ground from yesterday. Burning Cherry, Beech, & Oak depending on what I grab from the mix in the porch box.
