Forecast temps keep getting reforecast....and changing, so I just went ahead and loaded the stove about 90% with Ash and a little Oak. Might get down to 26-27 by morning...I'll know more when I wake up.
my son is having a sleep over so they will camp out in the rec room which is by the wood stove. I will let the furnace take the muscle tonight while the wood stove drops in temps. The arctic air doesnt show up until tomorrow or monday so it works for me
23 on the back porch this morning. Just red embers left in the boiler. Stirred them up and put a mix of Ash and Pine splits in. Those on bottom we're off to the races in no time.
12 c out an sun is shining in the uk , fine day for splitting and stacking .burning ash all weekend just because that's next in my pile ( beggars can't be choosers)
Heading into a week of 20's and teens. And snow for half of the days coming up, part sun for the other half. You just know thats gonna change.
After a warm October/most of November here I'm finally starting to burn 3-5 days weekly & weekends now. 34 degrees, moderate snow falling first one of the season.May see 1-2 inches slushy stuff by early afternoon.High around 42 so it will be gone tomorrow. Burning a mix of 2 yr old Silver Maple,4 yr old small Mulberry,2.5 yr old Walnut tops/branches/milling scrap, worst of my 3 yr old Apple odd smoker chunks & some other miscellaneous odds & ends. Saving the good stuff for when it really gets cold.....
32° and an inch of snow is forecast. I just went out and stirred the coals and added some pine. just to keep things rolling. I would like to go work on that pile of ash, but the bride has other plans for me today.
Ended up being 30 OAT this am, so I waited a while for a fire. Still 70 IAT. 5 smallish sticks and we're off to the races.
32 now, supposed to see something called the sun and hit 40, we'll see. Burned some maple and mostly elm in the garage last night.
We held steady at -2c over night with 4-6 inches of fresh snow. Just in the last hour it dropped to -3 so I wonder if the temperature slide is happening now? I saw last night fort mac was 0c but is -10 now. I need the lakes to freeze up better so I can go fishing, this weeks upcoming weather should do the trick.
well just checked ypthe weather.. going into 20s tonight.. high for next week is maybe 35.. looks like old Woodstock will go on her 12 to 15 hour diet instead of 1 load a day.. was 67 in stove room this morning and that's a no no at my house... I will be burning same all winter soft maple, birch, ash elm and cherry... it's what's dry this season
