It was wicked cold this morn but time was running out and I was half froze, long story short...I nailed a button buck , looked bigger when it was running... Small but in the hand not in the bush anymore...Yum deer heart for dinner....

 

Congrats. I haven't connected this year. You can keep the heart though.

 

The heart on this one is wicked tender not rubbery at all...It is awesome...

 

My co-workers rave about it. There are a ton of good cuts on a deer. No need for me to eat a heart. Maybe I'll try it one day. Until then I'll keep giving them to co-workers.

 

Took me awhile to eat heart because I was eating the heart of an animal and it freaked me out but I like to eat everything and not waste if I kill it sooo...I finally tried the heart and never looked back...

 

Sliced thin fried in butter and onions with home fries

 

Actually I like my meat pure and unadulterated...Just fried in cast iron fry pan with real butter...

 

That's how my Pops did it the onions and spuds were in a separate cast pan

 

To late...Polished off the heart for breakfast...Sorry...

I won't eat deer organs, even hearts.

I gift those to the wildlife. Wolves, bear, ravens, eagles, yotes, and whatever else wants it.

I get plenty from the good parts of the deer.
