Will a $300 tax credit be available for a used purchased wood insert rating 71.7% efficient? If so what documentation proof of purchase should be provided?

No, new only. And the docs come from the manufacturer and the seller (dealer)

Thanks for responding, I couldn't find anything stating clearly it had to be a new purchase.

IMHO; we serious wood burners should be able to claim this year after year after year!!!

But, I suppose you'd get the cheaters, that would just put a stove in to get the credit...................year after year after year!!!

I agree, those of us that burn like us should be rewarded.

If you bought it this year yes. There is a link to the Englander cert form on one or two of the NC30 threads from last winter (early this year) or it is available (although hard to find) on their site

Thank you! I think anyone burning wood as a primary heat source should receive a tax credit too. It just makes sense. Keeps all the money in the USA. It's a renewable resource, and you can't beat the heat from a wood fire. Provides lots of exercise too.:fire:
